The Crib Barn

the crib barn

Crib barn being repaired in 1980 by volunteers.

The Crib Barn was built early in the 19th century, or possibly earlier, but its origins are obscure. The style is unusual in this part of the country. It was originally located near the present Blacksmith Shop. In 1980, community volunteers moved it to its present location. It consists of an open hand-hewn framework covered in three-foot shingles. It is currently used for storage.
