The Rose & Kettle Tearoom

Opened in 1990, the Rose & Kettle Tearoom is located in the Harris House at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum. The house was built in the mid-19th century by the Settles. The verandah, added to the house in the 1920s, was transformed into a tearoom largely through the efforts of hard-working volunteers.

The Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum is a non-profit community museum operated by volunteers and a small paid staff. All revenue goes into running the museum.

The tearoom uses fresh ingredients whenever possible, vegetables from the museum garden and eggs from the barnyard hens. Tea is made in a pre-heated crockery pot and covered with hand-made tea cosy. Most of the dishes and furniture have been donated.
