Accessibility

The Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum is partially accessible.

Here are a few accessibility barriers to note:

Exterior accessways at the Farm are made of packed gravel, are approximately 5 feet wide, and sloped in some areas. Border/peripheral walking paths are maintained as cut grass pathways. For visitors with mobility or visual barriers, we suggest attending with someone who can assist with navigating. Farm Museum staff are available to assist. If immediate assistance is not in view, please check in at the Harris House or tearoom (the larger white house).

The tearoom is partially accessible with a 32″ wide doorway entrance. A new accessible entry ramp will be added in fall 2025. This public space is a single storey however a 2″ ridge/lip between the veranda and the washroom and gift shop area exists. Assistance may be needed to guide a mobility aid in this space.

One of two public washrooms (located inside the tearoom) was made fully accessible in fall 2024.

**The Farm Museum underwent a site audit in 2023 by an independent accessibility expert and we are working to make improvements within the funding challenges of a non-profit.**
