Feed the Animals Campaign Results

An update on the Help Feed the Animals fundraising campaign: While we unfortunately didn’t reach our goal on our fundraising campaign we did raise nearly $900! This money will go directly to helping feed the animals kept here at The Farm over the summer months. We’d like to extend a huge Thank You to everyone who contributed to this campaign. R. Michael Eaton – A celebration of life

The Cole Harbour Rural Heritage Society will host a celebration of life for the late R. Michael Eaton at the Cole Harbour Meeting House on Thursday, November 6th from 2 to 4pm.  Michael, “Mike”, and his late wife Rosemary Gilliat Eaton were founding members of the CHRHS and a driving force behind the Society’s works for the last 40 years. “Farmer for a Day” returns to the Farm

Farmer for a Day is a school program delivered by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture for grade 3 students in the HRM.  The Farm will host this 3 day event for the 3rd consecutive year in September 2014, welcoming over 300 students for a very special agricultural experience.  Farmer for a Day gives students from elementary schools in Halifax Regional Municipality a chance to explore traditional and modern-day farming through interactive activities and sessions with representatives from the agricultural sector.   Read More →
