Our Heritage: An Evening of Music, Story & Art

Staged at Alderney Landing Theatre, Our Heritage will celebrate the diverse cultural heritages of our seaside province. Performers will include Nova Scotia’s renowned folklorist Clary Croft who will host the event. Joining Clary will be Mi’Kmaw singer & storyteller shalan joudry; British born folk singer Bill Plaskett; Dartmouth music legend Russ Brannon; Acadian songwriter and singer Ronald Bourgeois; African Nova Scotia traditional musician Art Bouman; and Gaelic singer and balladeer Margo Carruthers. Join our Blacksmith Kevin Thomas for an Introduction to Blacksmithing Workshop, here at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum. Learn about the history of Blacksmithing and try your hand at this heritage craft. This full-day workshop includes a morning presentation with fresh coffee, and a day at the forge working on your own take-home project. The workshop will take place on October 14th, 2023, from 9am to 4pm. This will be our only weekend date for Intro to Blacksmithing for the rest of 2023. Be sure to register for your space right away!
